Aux-IN was a fairly expensive option for BMWs of the series E39, E46, E60, E61, E63, E64, E90, E91, E92, E93. The result is that relatively few of these beautiful cars are equipped with this function.
If you ask the dealer to have Aux-IN added to your car, you can expect an invoice of 600 to 800 euros! At BMW Tweaks you can have AUX added to your radio for a fraction of this price. If you opt for the wired version, there are two options. You can opt for a simple cable from the glove compartment, but there is also the option of making a mini-jack point in the center console. You will then receive an additional cable. Moreover, we offer the possibility to make the Aux-IN wireless via Bluetooth!
Aux-in retrofits are available for the BMW 5 series (E60 & E61), the BMW 6 series (E63 & E64) and the BMW 3 series (E90, E91, E92 & E93).
For the BMW 5 series (E39), Aux-IN is not possible in all cases, Aux-IN is only possible in the following cases:
Your E39 has a 16:9 navigation screen and is built in 2000-09 or later.
For the BMW 3 series (E46), Aux-IN is not possible in all cases, Aux-IN is only possible in the following cases:
Your E46 has a Business radio (Casette/CD player in the front and NO Navigation).
Your E46 has a 16:9 navigation screen and is built in 2003 or later.
Can I also call via Aux-In
Aux-IN only offers the possibility to play music through the speakers of your car. Calling is only possible via a carkit. Aux-IN is not a car kit, but can be built in next to an existing car kit.
Note: Installing Aux-IN at BMW Tweaks is only possible with the models mentioned above. We cannot help you with Aux for your E38, E65, etc.
